The first PDF Women and PD Conference took place in 2015. It provided a supportive retreat-like setting in which 25 women gained the information, tools and leadership skills they need to advocate for the specific needs of women with PD.
Our faculty included female specialists in a variety of disciplines, including movement disorders, psychology, physical therapy, self-care and others.
Attendees are now charged with sharing their knowledge (by organizing at least one women and PD event or a series of events in their own community) to help other women live well and better manage their disease, and to be an advocate for the needs of women with Parkinson's disease.
PDF's Women and PD Conference has been made possible with support from Eugenia Brin, The Katz Institute for Women’s Health of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, The New York Women’s Foundation and Alice Siegel.
