Music for Parkinson’s Raises $40,000
Molly and David Eger announce raffle prize winners
On December 4, 2011, nearly 150 people gathered at Rye Country Day School in Rye, NY, for the Ninth Annual Music for Parkinson's Concert, raising $40,000 for PDF's research programs.
The afternoon was an intimate gathering of family, friends and supporters organized by Music for Parkinson's Research. This volunteer group was founded by David Eger, Ph.D., John Stine and the late Marsha Winokur. Dr. Eger is a practicing clinical psychologist and Co-Chair of PDF's People with Parkinson's Advisory Council.
The concert featured the works of Brahms and Mozart, performed by internationally known pianist Gena Raps; the Attacca Quartet, one of the United States premier young performing ensembles; and renowned flutist Carol Wincenc. A wine and cheese reception followed. Dr. Eger remarked, "Year after year, we come one step closer to improving the lives and futures of the nearly one million people in the US living with Parkinson's disease."
