Ms. Johnson held a career in non-fiction book publishing, as well as in company management.

Ms. Johnson was a care partner to her husband Robert Johnson and has remained very active in the Parkinson’s community since his death in 2004. After her husband’s diagnosis of Parkinson’s, together Ms. Johnson and her husband educated themselves about the disease and became active in the community. Ms. Johnson has written and produced materials on the practical aspects of managing Parkinson’s, such as one of PDF’s popular fact sheets, “The PD Partnership.”

Ms. Johnson also continues her husband’s work, distributing news of Parkinson’s research and drug trials to a national audience.  As a skilled speaker, communicator and group facilitator, Ms. Johnson has been closely involved in all aspects of running a support group.  In 2007, she received PDF’s first Award for Leadership in Caregiving.
