"I want to bring my communications expertise to the Parkinson’s Foundation Advisory Council to help educate, inspire and comfort those facing Parkinson’s and to better support those who face the challenges of navigating the workplace while living with the disease."

Ms. Jannette is a freelance writer and photographer. She has more than 20 years of experience working in strategic traditional and digital communications, with expertise in writing, editing, public relations, branding and marketing. In recent years, she worked for a service dog nonprofit, managing its social media, marketing and public relations. In this capacity, she helped to inform the general public and the Parkinson’s community of the potential benefits of service dogs.

Diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2008, Ms. Jannette has also been involved with Parkinson’s local support groups, projects and events, and in the Parkinson’s Foundation’s efforts to raise awareness on the national level. For example, in 2011, she created a block for the Parkinson’s Quilt, a project developed by the Foundation to focus world attention on the nearly one million people in the US and seven to 10 million people worldwide living with Parkinson's disease. She has also participated in clinical studies.

Ms. Jannette served her community over the years by volunteering with inner city schools, people with disabilities and animal rescue groups.

She received her bachelor of science from Excelsior College.
