PAN Alert: Take Action: Urge Congress to Strengthen Federal Research Funding

Friday, May 20, 2016

The Parkinson's Disease Foundation (PDF) has received an important update from the Parkinson's Action Network (PAN) about this year's federal budget for scientific research.

From PAN:

Congress is working to set next year’s budget and allocate funding for FY 2017. As part of this process, the House and Senate are deciding where to increase federal spending.

Our community has the opportunity to make its voice heard and strengthen funding for the agencies and programs that further Parkinson’s research and speed drug development and approvals, including at least $34.5 billion for the National Institutes of Health, $16 million for the Department of Defense Parkinson’s research program and $2.8 billion for the Food and Drug Administration.

Contact your members of Congress today and urge them to support medical research funding that would advance Parkinson's disease research.

PAN is the voice of the Parkinson's community in Washington, DC. In fiscal year 2016, PDF is supporting PAN with a grant of $200,000.
