Video: Parkinsonís is a Family Affair

I would like to share with you a special video - which honors the families like yours who are so bravely fighting Parkinson's - narrated by Willie Geist, co-anchor of NBC News' "Today" and co-host of MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

On May 16, more than 300 supporters joined the Parkinson's Disease Foundation for our annual Bal du Printemps Gala at The Plaza Hotel in New York City, raising $675,000 to benefit PDF's research programs.

In honor of the gala theme, "A Family Affair," we presented my fellow Board Member Arlene Levine and her husband Jerry, with the Page and William Black Humanitarian Award. A second honor, the 2013 Commendation of Excellence, was presented to long-time supporter LVMH Moët Hennessy - Louis Vuitton.

The evening also paid tribute to the many families who are making a difference in the fight against Parkinson's disease, including the family of Ivory Latta, WNBA star and Ambassador of the PDF Champions program, the family of Willie Geist, our Master of Ceremonies, and the families like yours for whom PDF is working all year long.

We hope you'll watch here and be as touched as we are by these stories. Please also use the links below to view photos from the evening.

Lastly, be sure to save the date for next year's gala: Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at The Plaza Hotel in New York City. We hope to see you there!
