Order the Awareness T-Shirt
Thousands of you voted last month in PDF’s 2012 Parkinson’s Awareness Month T-shirt Design Contest. Diane Malstrom’s, “Optimism and Hope” design came out on top. It depicts a climber reaching the top of a mountain covered in tulips, the symbol for Parkinson’s.
Ms. Malstrom, of Twain Harte, CA, whose stepfather lives with Parkinson’s, said, “That day when my mother and I found out my stepfather had Parkinson’s and the struggle and hardship of watching it progress, felt like a mountain climb. The person climbing the mountain in my design represents all of us – the caregivers, our loved ones, and the people living with Parkinson’s. Everyone is touched by the disease.”

Take the Awareness Challenge
PDF and our PDF Champions Ambassador, WNBA star, Ivory Latta, challenge you to raise awareness and funds this April. Here are two ways to do so:
- 30 in 30 Challenge: Last year PDF Champions raised funds through bake sales, walks and other creative events. Can you help PDF meet its goal of 30 events in 30 days in April? Sign up today and we’ll work with you every step of the way to ensure your event is a success.
- Campus Challenge: Calling all college students! Participants in teams of two or more are invited to hold events on any college campus on any day during the month of April. There will be two grandprize winners at the end of the campaign: one for the most creative fundraising idea and one for the most funds raised.
