Your credit will be emailed within an additional 30 days of survey submission.

If your state or national board is not listed, please verify with your board or association regarding acceptance of one of the providers listed below before applying. Nurse Webinar Series

Learn about the latest innovations in PD care through the PDF Nurse Webinar Series, designed for and by Scholars of The Edmond J. Safra Visiting Nurse Faculty Program at PDF. Scholars of this program represent an innovative network of nurse educators who are working with PDF to advance research, care and nursing education. While the series supports their ongoing education and collaboration, PD professionals who share these goals are invited to join.

Occupational Therapy Course

logo_occupationaltherapy.jpgPDF alerts occupational therapy practitioners its new online course, Occupational Therapy: Across the Parkinson’s Disease Continuum, is now available.  The four-module online course is designed by expert occupational therapy practitioners in the field of Parkinson’s to help their colleagues to ensure best practice care for people living with the disease.

The courses provide practical, evidence-based knowledge across the continuum of Parkinson’s care (from diagnosis to advanced PD) to help occupational therapy practitioners evaluate and treat individuals in all settings — including in home care, community rehabilitation and long-term care practice settings.

Participants can view each of the four courses, and take the respective tests necessary for credit, separately or all at once. Participants can earn up to .7 AOTA CEUs / seven contact hours / 8.75 NBCOT / PDUs by viewing the course through the AOTA Learning Library for a small fee OR if not CEUs are needed, can view for free on the PDF website.

Physical Therapy Course 

logo_ptherapy.jpgPDF invites physical therapists to join us for Parkinson’s Disease: A Practical Approach to Evaluation and Treatment for the Physical Therapist, an online course designed by expert physical therapists in the field of Parkinson’s disease to help other physical therapists better understand how to evaluate, treat, and deliver comprehensive care to people living with Parkinson’s. This course provides practical, evidence-based knowledge on how to effectively evaluate and treat individuals with Parkinson's. 0.8 CEUs are available.

Participants can view each of the four modules (and take the respective tests necessary for credit) separately over the course of a year.

The course is presented by the Parkinson's Disease Foundation in collaboration with American Parkinson Disease Association, American Physical Therapy Association and Visiting Nurse Service of New York. This course is made possible with the support of Kenneth M. and Susan Granat Weil in honor of John and Joan Haine, the Edmond J. Safra Foundation and the American Physical Therapy Association and with in-kind support from Rusk Rehabilitation at NYU Langone Medical Center.

Nursing Course

PDF invites nurses to join more than 10,000 others in taking its online course, Parkinson’s Disease Across the Lifespan: A Roadmap for Nurses.  Designed by nurses for nurses, the online course provides the latest in current treatment and care strategies. 

It is free for all participants and participants can watch each of the four modules (and take the respective tests) separately or all at one time.

New! Speech and Language Pathology Course

Let's Talk About Parkinson's: How Can Speech and Language Pathologists Deliver the Best Care?
Saturday, October 28, Atlanta, GA
This course is designed by expert speech and language pathologists in the field of Parkinson’s to help other speech and language pathologists improve care for people with Parkinson’s. The course was developed by the Parkinson’s Foundation in collaboration with the American Congress of Rehabilitation (ACRM). It will launch live at the ACRM conference and be available online, for CEUs in January 2018. Learn more and register here.
 

The Edmond J. Safra Visiting Nurse Faculty Program at PDF

The Edmond J. Safra Visiting Nurse Faculty Program housed at the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation is a 40-hour accredited “train the trainer” program which educates nursing faculty on Parkinson’s and the role of nurses across the continuum of the disease so they can, in turn, educate nursing students.

Apply to our Physical Therapy Faculty Program. This “train the trainer” program ensures best practice care in Parkinson’s by training faculty leaders who can, in turn, educate their physical therapy students. The four-day training offers continuing education credits and a stipend to those who complete all requirements. We offer two training dates/locations for this program.
