Working Together for Parkinson’s Awareness Month
To the Editor:
Did you know April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month? This month, I’m urging our neighbors to work together for a world without Parkinson’s. Nearly one million Americans live with Parkinson’s and 10 million worldwide live with Parkinson’s.
Many of them, [including me, my family member, etc.] are living right here in [community name].
[Insert your personal story here.]
The cause of Parkinson’s disease is unknown and each person’s journey will be different. There is no cure, but there is hope and there are resources to help.
I invite my neighbors to contact the Parkinson’s Foundation to learn more and get involved in the cause. The organization’s HelpLine can provide free awareness posters and educational resources. They can also answer questions about Parkinson’s and help you to locate local resources.
Our neighbors can also show their support [by attending an event or making a donation]. For more information, please contact the Parkinson’s Foundation at (800) 457-6676 or visit www.pdf.org [and/or insert your contact information].
