Q: What is a PDWebcast?

A: PDWebcasts allow you to view video broadcasts of Parkinson’s Disease Foundation’s (PDF) educational events through our website.  With PDWebcasts, you can watch leading Parkinson’s researchers and physicians discuss both their latest scientific findings as well as their insights on how people with Parkinson’s can best manage their PD.  You can do all of this from the comfort of your own home.

Q: Can I only view the webcast at certain hours of the day?

A: If you would like to view a PDWebcast of a live event, you will need to access the website at the time that the event is taking place.  However, once the event has passed, a copy of the webcast will be posted on our website and you can watch this taped version at your convenience - 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

If you do choose to watch a live event, please keep in mind that the live events take place around the US and time zones may vary.  Be sure to check the event program for the correct start time.

Q: Is there a fee to view a webcast?

A: No, there is no fee required you to view a PDWebcast.  Following each live event, PDF will post an archive webcast on our website for one full year, for you to access free of charge.

Q: Do I need to register for the webcast?

A: Yes, we urge people to register in advance for live webcasts as soon as possible - so that our web team can assist you with any technical difficulties you may have before the day of the event.  By registering, you are able to test your computer well in advance and ensure that you are able to view the entire event, without complication.  An e-mail reminder will be sent out 1-2 days before the event. To register, please visit www.pdf.org/webcast.

Q: How do I register for a webcast?

A: To register for a PDWebcast, visit www.pdf.org/webcast. All of our webcasts require you to complete a registration form that asks you to provide your first and last name, your email, state, and country, and to answer a few informative questions regarding how you heard about the webcast and your relationship to Parkinson’s.  To register for upcoming webcasts and past webcasts, please click here

Q: Can I watch a PDWebcast with my support group?

A: Yes, PDF encourages viewers to watch with family, friends and support group members.  Many support groups have hosted ‘viewing parties.’  Read below to see if this option might work for you.

Q: What is a “viewing party”?

A: A “viewing party” is a group people that watch a live or taped webcast together by projecting the webcast video onto a large screen.  You may want to have a “viewing party” with your local support group or with other people with Parkinson's, caregivers, or health professionals.

If you are interested in organizing a “viewing party”, select a member of your group to contact to alert us of your gathering, so that we can provide you with details and assistance.
