Diagnosis Parkinson's Disease: You Are Not Alone
The Parkinson's Disease Foundation (PDF) is pleased to announce that a new booklet, Diagnosis Parkinson's disease: You are not alone, is now available. Written for a person who has just been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, the publication includes testimonials from people on how they learned to cope and live with the diagnosis, scientific and medical information from experts and helpful tips and resources to provide some comfort and encouragement to someone who has just been surprised by unwelcome news - often, out of the blue.
PDF created this booklet in response to an expressed need - among doctors as well as patients and families - for a resource to assist in coping with the diagnosis. Both doctors and people who have lived with the disease agreed that while Parkinson's can be a devastating diagnosis, people need to know that there are ways to cope and that information and support are available.
PDF will be releasing a companion video to this booklet in late summer 2005. The production of this publication and its accompanying video was supported through an unrestricted educational grant from GlaxoSmithKline. For more information on the booklet and video or to order your copy, please contact PDF at (800) 457-6676 or visit www.pdf.org.
