Fred Ziess

A Memorial

He was a large man with a ready laugh and a generous heart. He was successful in his real-estate business, but at the peak of his career he traded it in for another; fighting Parkinson’s disease. He used every weapon at his command. Scanning the print world and the Internet, he sought out every snippet of information about Parkinson’s. He believed that this knowledge should be shared, so he reprinted hundreds of copies and mailed them to a nationwide list of people he had met in various ways. Few thanked him; fewer still reimbursed him for his expenses.

But all appreciated Fred Ziess. They knew him for his mailings, but more important, they also knew him as a friend. If they had a problem, they could call him day or night, and he would be there to talk them through it. For your love and generosity, Fred, we will miss you greatly.
