PD Unity Walk Cancelled

The annual UNITY WALK is a celebration of people with Parkinson's and their supporting families and friends. Individuals from around the world gather in New York City's Central Park for a gentle walk and a day of festivities. The purpose is to raise funds for PD research.

Due to recent horrifying acts of terrorism, and out of respect for those whose lives are forever changed, we have cencelled the September 23rd event.

We cannot, however, postpone the progress of Parkinson's disease. We must continue to financially support research. Your donations are crucial.

If you registered as an individual or as part of a team, we urge you to make your promised donation. For your convenience, we can accept online donations at our secure website at: www.parkinsonwalk.org

You can also mail donations directly to the Parkinson's Unity Walk offices at: 30 West 90th Street Suite 9-B New York, New York 10024

For information on the 2002 UNITY WALK as it becomes available, please visit out website.

(From the PDF: We recognize the difficulty in deciding to cancel the 2001 Unity Walk after a year's hard work in preparation but after Tuesday's tragic events, we can only agree with Ms. Zobel's decision. We join with Ms. Zobel in urging those who had registered as participants to make your donations as planned. We cannot allow acts of terrorism to permanently stop or slow in any way the hard work of so many dedicated individuals within the PD community.)
