NIH - FUNDS FOR 2001
- Oct 03 2000
The PDF is pleased to help announce the availability of greatly-increased research dollars for the support of studies in Parkinsonís disease. In cooperation with Dr. Gerald Fischbach, director of the NINDS, PDF executive director, Mr. Robin A. Elliott and PWP Washington, D.C. lawyer, Mr. Jeffrey Martin, the first meeting of the Parkinsonís Disease Implementation Committee was called to track NIH progress towards meeting the NIH five-year research agenda in PD to support tens of millions of dollars in new grants to support work on some of the most promising research leads.
The level of new funding for FY 2001 called for is $71.4 million dollars. It is hoped that with sufficient publicity of the availability of these grant monies that greater numbers of scientists will apply to take advantage of this added wealth.
For more details on the NIH agenda, please refer to the Summer/Fall issue of the PDF News. Copies of the reports of the meeting and the Five-Year Research Agenda are available from the PDFís New York office at (212) 923-4700 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
