Rent the Parkinson's Quilt
How Can I Rent the Quilt?
The Parkinson's Quilt is now available for rental.
Those wishing to rent the quilt must fill out the online application, letting us know about the intended display of the quilt and include a small rental fee. Fees will vary based on corporate or nonprofit status and the total number of sections rented. All monies raised from these fees will be used to maintain the project with additional funds earmarked for research exploring the therapeutic value of creativity in Parkinson's (See Fees & Registration for more information).
Each 8’ by 8’ quilt panel is now available for rental. Organizations can rent one or multiple quilts during the same time period, if available. Quilts will be reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Who Can Display the Quilt?
Sections of the Parkinson’s Quilt are available for short-term rental to individuals, groups, communities, organizations and companies and other venues around the world for awareness-raising purposes. Here are just a few examples and be sure to scroll down for a video presentation from one of our recent displays:
- Support Groups / Local Community Display
Support groups and community organizations play an important role in raising awareness on a grassroots level across the US. The next time you’re holding an educational, fundraising or awareness event, consider displaying a section of the quilt to inspire people to take new action in the fight against Parkinson’s.
- Academic Displays
Whether it’s a charity event, a health awareness week or an individual exhibit, a quilt display at your college or university campus can offer a valuable and unique opportunity to raise awareness of Parkinson’s.
- Workplace Displays
Sections of the quilt can be displayed at corporations and businesses as a centerpiece of Parkinson’s education and awareness, leaving a lasting impact on employees.
- Parkinson’s Awareness Month Displays - April 2013
Each April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month. This is a great time to display the quilt, but sections will be in high demand. If you are interested in displaying the quilt during April, please send in your application as soon as possible.
Many libraries display PD materials throughout the year - including during Parkinson’s Awareness Month - educating their communities about the disease. This year, display the quilt alongside your exhibit.
Sample Quilt Display
Kim Vitcenda Cade displayed blocks the Parkinson's Quilt in Viroqua, Wisconsin in October 2011. These blocks included two panels that Ms. Cade had created. See her slideshow below.
