Q:I have had PD for about 17 years. Lately I have been having "freezing" episodes. Is there anything I could try to help eliminate freezing? (GB)Show Answer

Q:My mother has PD and takes Sinemet and Mirapex. During the week she uses a walker to live independently in her mobile home. Every Sat, I drive 1 hr to take her to a large grocery store. Regardless of when the medications are taken, and without protein sources, the rigidity & stuck feet on the floor with walking occurs part way through the store. Does an event of increased activity or the patient becoming anxious (out in public place) require more dopamine, or does the activity compete with the medications? (PB)Show Answer
