Q:My husband has had Parkinson's for seven years and is having increased difficulty sleeping. He sleeps only about 4 hours a night and becomes very anxious and frustrated. His doctor has prescribed anti-anxiety drugs for him, but they haven't helped. He has become so tired during the day and I worry that this sleep deprivation will wear him out. Is there a sleeping pill he could take that would be safe with his medications? Do you have any other suggestions? (CH)Show Answer

Q:My neurologist has recommended Sinement CR to assist sleeping at night. My concern is the additional dosages of Sinement during the night will increase the total quantity taken in a 24 hour period. My understanding is we should minimize Sinement use because undesirable side effects will result later. Are there any options in addition to Sinement to aid a PD patient in getting a better night's sleep? (anonymous)Show Answer
