Q:My husband was energetic and strong until PD. Now our travel plans have been shortened or put on hold, and he has retired because of the low energy. I'm assuming this is part of the toll PD takes on the body. What can we do to increase his energy and strength? (MS)Show Answer

Q:My husband has been recently diagnosed with PD; he is 75+ years, and has probably had PD for quite a few years. However, now he has severely dry eyes, apparently due to the fact that he does not blink his eyes. Is there anyone doing research on various parts of the body affected by PD, in this case, esp. eyes? Thank you. (BF)Show Answer

Q:I have been expeiencing an involuntary small "jerking" movement with my body upon falling to sleep. I am usually not aware of it but my partner says it is disturbing his sleep. On occasion I am awakened too. These sudden "jerks" occur in 2-3 minute intervals. I am 56 years old and in excellent health. These jerking movements have occurred for several weeks now. My doctor has prescribed Mirapex for 3 weeks to see if there is any improvement. Could this be a precurser to something serious and how does one stop these movements?Show Answer

Q:Dear Sir,Show Answer
My Mother-in-law has PD and is taking Sinemet 50/200 5 times a day. She has anxiety attacks such as breathlessness and, one night about a month ago, the feeling of a tight chest. She says her hands always feel warm or numb and there is pain in her fingertips. Today we see her PD doctor bbut he's already said that the tingling and numbness are not PD symptom. Could it be caused by her anxiety? She is on Ativan when she need it. Would a multiple Vitamin help?
Thank you. (RC)
