Q:I am 22-year-old female, who has been experiencing tremors of the right leg, with shaky hands quite often. I have unusual sleep patterns and get very icy cold feet and hands often. My mother has a rare disease known as Cushings. I was wondering if my syptoms could be signs of PD? I am finding myself with tremors on the right side more frequently than in the past. concerned and how is PD diagnosed? We have never considered this as an issue
until a friend referred to it recently and suggested getting it checked out.

Q:My Grandma's head shakes all the time. My family was sure that she has Parkinson's disease. Her head has shaken for as long as I can remember(all day, every day). Her doctor saysShow Answer
it is just tremors, nothing more. Could it be? Could she not have PD, but something else? I am curious because she has been falling recently and wondering if it is because of the disease or of something else. (SB)

I have been treated solely by my family physician. Is it advisable to see
a neurologist? Would a complete neurological evaluation be done?
I have seen two neurologists but neither one did anything besides confirm the diagnosis.

Q:I would like to know how a determination is made whether one hasShow Answer
Parkinson's disease. Is there a blood test, or some other type of test? A visual evaluation of some stiffness of the right arm, and slow
responsiveness, prompted the doctor to prescribe a small dosage of Sinemet for a few weeks, to see if there is any difference. I'm not sure that is the
right decision.
