Q:My Father is eighty years old and was diagnosed about ten years ago. Because of his PD he is basically housebound unless someone takes him out. I am a nurse and know the benefits of physical therapy for patients. He was told that Medicare would only pay for a few treatments because Parkinson's patients will never get better but I'm sure that he is deteriorating because of his lack of activity. Q:I have a rare chance to help a growing Parkinson's unit conduct a pilot project to implement adaptive solutions in one of the residence's rooms to start. Funding is already available. Would you steer me towards some of the solutions that I have heard that Mr. Fox and others have used to modify their homes (such as self flushing toilettes, phone dialers, etc.). My specialty is in computer access and I have many ways to accomplish that but am looking into tried and true devices, designs, and methods that work.Show Answer
