Q:My Dad is 75 yrs old and diagnosed with PD two years ago. He has very slight tremor, but much rigidity and slowness of movement. He is on Sinemet 2x/day. Problem: lately he is having trouble mentally doing things that used to come very easily - i.e., tax returns, copying flight schedules forShow Answer
airline trips, etc., or anything that involves mental transferring of info from brain to paper. He makes mistakes or copies incorrectly and he becomes very upset and this probably makes it even worse. Is this part of PD? Would an increase in Sinemet help this? Any advice would be appreciated!

Q:My 79 year old Dad has had PD since he was 65. He is currently falling multiple times a day, receiving stitches in his face often. Doctors have adjusted his medications as recently as 2 weeks ago but falls continue. He has tried several walkers to no avail. My mother can't turn her back on him for fear of a fall. I fear a wheelchair will compound the problem as he would become more rigid. What else should we do? I fear a fall could take my mother down with him, and he would suffer a serious blow to the head.
