Q:Is it normal for an effected person to have "good" times of day when they almost feel "normal" and "bad" times of day when they can really tell the Parkinson's is hitting home. After I take my meds in the morning-I usually feel good and can move around rather freely. By mid afternoon my legs start to stiffen up and sometimes at night my legs shake sobad i cant get to sleep.Show Answer
Also is it unusual to be diagnosed as having Parkinsons only on one side of your body? (SJ)

Q:My father is 80 years old and is in the advanced stages of PD. He recently had a gastric feeding tube implanted due to cessation of swallowing functions. He now has two major problems that he complains about. First is that he feels hungry all the time. Second issue is that he feels that his throat is closing up all the time due to phlegm buildup and demands suction to alleviate the problem. I must add that he has some issues with dementia also. Is there anything we can do to reduce or eliminate his hunger pangs and constricted throat? (anonymous)Show Answer
