Q:My son was diagnosed with viral encephalitis two years ago. He was in a coma for several weeks and now has a seizure disorder. I have been told that some post-encephalopathy patients get Parkinson's. Is this true? I am particularly concerned because he frequently is very shaky especially in his hands. This also could be a side effect of the many anti-convulsants he takes. We see a neurologist regularly but I have forgotten to ask him about this.
