PD SELF (Self-Efficacy Learning Forum)

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of people newly diagnosed with Parkinson’s? We do too and we need your help.

Many people, when first diagnosed with Parkinson’s, are given little guidance on how to cope with a chronic disease. But research shows that with the right tools, people can learn to master the management of their disease and improve their health and well-being.

Are you a patient leader or health leader in the Parkinson’s community? Help us to share these tools with the newly diagnosed as a Team Leader for PD SELF — an innovative self-efficacy-based disease management program. PD SELF not only teaches information and skills, it also asks people to tap into their own power to create a personal experience of living with Parkinson's disease.

The first PDF PD SELF (Self-Efficacy Learning Forum) Leader Training took place in May 2016. PDF and its PD SELF Team Leaders will launch several pilot programs around the US and we will be seeking individuals within three years of a PD diagnosis in those areas to participate. Stay tune for dates and locations.
