PAN Alert: Act Now: Urge Your Senators to Support DoD Parkinson's Research
- Jun 20 2014
The Parkinson's Disease Foundation (PDF) has received another important update from the Parkinson's Action Network (PAN) about increased federal Parkinson's research funding.
This afternoon, the House of Representatives passed its version of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2015 Defense appropriations bill, which includes $16 million for the Department of Defense (DoD) Parkinson's research program – and now the Senate is expected to take up its version of the Defense bill in the coming weeks.
Your outreach made a difference in the House – and your voice is needed again to ensure this critical program is fully funded in FY 2015.
Contact your Senators today and ask them to support $16 million for Parkinson's research at DoD.
Thanks to the hard work of Parkinson's advocates from across the country, this program has remained fully funded despite fiscal challenges. We must ensure that DoD Parkinson's research remains a priority as Congress makes funding decisions this year. Learn more about the program on PAN's website here.
PAN is the voice of the Parkinson's community in Washington, DC. In fiscal year 2014, PDF is supporting PAN with a grant of $200,000.
