Rally to Support Research Funding!
- Apr 03 2013
The Parkinson's Disease Foundation (PDF) has received another important update from the Parkinson's Action Network (PAN) about advocating for research funding.
On April 8, thousands will gather in Washington, DC to Rally for Medical Research - a unified call to our nation's policymakers to make medical research funding a national priority. This call to action will raise awareness about the critical need for a sustained investment in the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to improve health, spur progress, inspire hope, and save lives.
The Parkinson's Action Network (PAN) is a partnering organization and encourages you to participate in the Rally for Medical Research, as NIH funding is critical to finding new treatments and a cure for Parkinson's disease. Even if you cannot be in Washington on April 8, the rally will be live-streaming on YouTube. Tune in to hear from great speakers including NIH Director Francis Collins, M.D., Ph.D., Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), and Congressman Chris Van Hollen (D-MD)! Watch here.
When: Monday, April 8, 2013 from 11:00 AM -12:15 PM ET.
Where: Carnegie Library Grounds at Mt. Vernon Square, 801 K Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001 or online at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y23FFtBWzdY.
