Ask Your Senators to Support NIH Funding!
- Mar 14 2012
The Parkinson's Disease Foundation (PDF) has received another important update from the Parkinson’s Action Network (PAN) about biomedical research funding.
We need your help to secure support for biomedical research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Last week, we asked you to reach out to your Representatives, and now it is time to reach out to your Senators. Senators Robert Casey (D-PA) and Richard Burr (R-NC) are circulating a Dear Colleague letter in support of a strong federal commitment to NIH research funding in Fiscal Year (FY) 2013.
NIH is the largest funder of Parkinson’s research in the world. A strong federal commitment to NIH FY 2013 funding is absolutely vital in order for NIH to continue its critical role in the search for better treatments and a cure for Parkinson’s, and your immediate action is needed.
The deadline for Senators to sign on to the letter is close of business Monday, March 26. Call your Senator today and ask him or her to sign the Casey/Burr Dear Colleague letter!
PAN is the voice of the Parkinson's community in Washington, DC. In fiscal year 2012, PDF is supporting PAN with a grant of $200,000.
