Ask Your Representatives to Support Increased NIH Funding!
- Mar 06 2012
The Parkinson's Disease Foundation (PDF) has received another important update from the Parkinson’s Action Network (PAN) about biomedical research funding.
We need your help to secure support for biomedical research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Representatives Ed Markey (D-MA) and Brian Bilbray (R-CA) are circulating a Dear Colleague letter in support of at least $32 billion for NIH in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2013 House Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education (Labor-HHS) appropriations bill. NIH is the largest funder of Parkinson’s research in the world. This funding is absolutely vital in order for NIH to continue its critical role in the search for better treatments and a cure for Parkinson’s and your immediate action is needed.
The deadline to secure signatures is close of business Wednesday, March 14. Call your Representative today and ask him or her to sign the Markey/Bilbray Dear Colleague letter!
