Parkinson's Awareness Month T-Shirt Contest Winner Announced!
Design Will Be Featured on T-Shirt During April
- Mar 08 2010
The votes are in! In recognition of April as Parkinson’s Awareness Month, the Parkinson's Disease Foundation (PDF) accepted design submissions from people throughout the US for the 2010 Parkinson's Awareness Month T-Shirt Contest. A panel of volunteer judges then narrowed down the submissions to five designs.
1800 of you voted amongst these five finalists for YOUR favorite. PDF is proud to announce the winning design:
- The Fight to Win design, created by Heather Hinrichsen of Glendale, Arizona. This submission, also known as Design #5 on PDF’s online vote, received over 800 votes!
Ms. Hinrichsen's design will be featured on a t-shirt that will be distributed both online through PDF’s online store (check back in two weeks to place your order) and at PDF’s booth at the Parkinson’s Unity Walk in New York City on Saturday, April 24. All proceeds will benefit PDF’s research programs.
Ms. Hinrichsen spoke to PDF about her design, “I am 36 years old and living with young-onset Parkinson's, so I designed this logo with my kids in mind. They are three years old and two years old. I plan to fight PD until I win - I have PD, but it doesn't have me!"
PDF congratulates Ms. Hinrichsen on her winning design, which will help to raise awareness of Parkinson's throughout our communities this April. This contest is just one part of PDF's efforts to recognize Parkinson's Awareness Month during April. How can you participate? Learn more about Parkinson’s Awareness Month:
