PDF Wins Third Consecutive Four Star Award From Internet Watchdog

Charity Navigator, an Internet-based service that provides in-depth, objective analysis of the fundraising operations of American’s largest charities, has for the third year running awarded the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation (PDF) its highest 4-star ranking.

The web-based portal, accessed at www.charitynavigator.com, is a resource for donors, helping to guide intelligent giving by providing information on over 1,700 charities and by rating their financial health. Star ratings are determined by evaluating two key areas: short-term spending practices and long-term sustainability. The analysis includes an organization’s core expenses - fundraising, program, and administration expenses. Based on how each charity rates in these and other areas, it is assigned an overall rating, ranging from zero to four stars.
