Holbrook Family Hosting Parkinson's Fundraiser in Memory of Father

A local family will celebrate their father's memory and his love for hockey with a “Pucks for Parkinson’s” fundraiser this month.

Abington resident Lynne Dietenhofer, along with her brother Scott Dietenhofer and his wife Julie of Holbrook, will raise money to benefit the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation on April 12.

“It broke my heart a little more each day witnessing the effects of Parkinson’s disease on my father, who had a heart of gold and was nicknamed ‘The Gentle Giant,’” Lynne Dietenhofer said in an announcement.

“If we can raise awareness and funds to help find a cure for Parkinson’s disease so that other people don't have to go through what George did, then we have been successful.”

The event is from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM at the Knights of Columbus at 254 Hancock Street in Abington.
