Montclair briefs: Oakland Resident's Art Chosen for Calendar

Oakland resident Gary Turchin is one of 13 artists whose work was selected to appear in the Parkinson's Disease Foundation's 2012 Creativity and Parkinson's Calendar. His photographic print entitled, "House, Through the Flowers" is featured in the month of August. His artwork, including his collection which features "House, Through the Flowers," will be on display at East Bay Open Studios on Saturday and Sunday at the Jack London Square Pavilion.

Turchin was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2006, but has not let it hamper his optimistic and creative spirit.
