Participant Information

The poem included with this application, Parkinson's Lemonade, was inspired by my association with Parkinson's disease and the opportunity for this submittal.

I believe the exercise has been beneficial, somewhat "making lemonade." I have experienced a joyful uplift doing this, even though the original writing took several weeks and copying it into a more presentable form took about four hours.

I am filling a student composition book with writings of my own creation, mostly poetry. I perceive this activity as very therapeutic. It enables me to express some of my inward urgings, despite my physical limitations, and improves my mental outlook by raising my hopes that something worthwhile will result from my efforts.
