I developed my love of crafts out of admiration for my sister. She developed breast cancer and fought it for 14 years but started sewing in the 8th grade. At the age of 19, she sewed my wedding dress. She advanced to doing quilts, drawing her own patterns, and writing a book. We would spend time talking about sewing and crafts and every little bit of information I could pick up I would. It brought us much closer together. I signed up for the Susan G. Komen 3-day and was diagnosed right after that. My crafting started to go full force then. What I do now makes me feel alive and gives me good memories of my sister.
