Essay:
I was diagnosed in 2003 at the age of 51. I stopped working in 2005. I am by profession a Registered Nurse, specializing in Oncology Nursing/Bone Marrow Transplant. I enjoyed this profession for approximately 20 years. The realization of having to stop working as an RN was more devastating to me than the diagnosis of PD.
I do have a sense of hope in finding a cure for this disease, however, some days are more difficult to get through than other days.
To me this is reality, that I along with many others face each day.
