Essay:
Art has been my career, profession, passion, and love all my life. Parkinson's disease has caused major style changes -- realism to impressionism to abstract (referred to as "subliminal" art because there are hidden images in each painting.)
The latter style is what I create exclusively in the nursing home, and makes every day worthwhile.
I have suffered from PD for 30 years now, and also have Alzheimer's along with it. It takes a number of people to help me be able to paint today, but just knowing that I can encourages me and others around me.
P.S. We now have several residents in the nursing home creating, because of what I was allowed to do when I first came here.
