Betty Snyder Wilson

I have been blessed in many ways over the years, but I have to say that PD has been a mixed blessing from the very beginning.

As I was being diagnosed, I had just lost my job (because I could not perform standard data entry.) Disability was about all I could hope for in the way of income - let alone health insurance.

My PD has been quite slow in progressing but progress it has, in a way I didn't expect. It is my cognitive responses that have hit me first - and that I was not prepared to face.

But God has equipped me for this journey by giving me these talents that I did not know I had. Now I am writing poetry for my children and grandchildren so they will know what I feel and what I believe.

I'm writing songs to the glory of God and painting what is beautiful in His world...He has given me belief in myself through belief in Him, our creator.

I want to say that Mr. Canning's "A Touch of Sanity" touched my heart so deeply. I have shared it with my family and friends whose lives have all been touched in some way by PD, dementia, or Alzheimer's. God Bless you and keep on writing, Mr. Canning - Please.
