There are only a handful of life altering events that are common to most of us - marriage, children, a death in the family...little did I know that I was to experience another.
Having Parkinson's goes way beyond the obvious physical difficulties; it is an illness that forces continuous change, leaving your life forever in flux.
I am not who I was prior to the diagnosis and I am not sure who I will be tomorrow, that is the scariest fact of them all.
But I will do what I have to do to survive, with family, friends and myself intact; and that's where writing comes in. It is a release, it is comforting, and, hopefully, it is good.
