Carolyn Parks

I tried never to let my situation take away the pleasure I have in designing and making things which I hope hold some interest and beauty to others, and I found as I went on that I could find new things to do -- when I could not do one thing I could do another.

Perhaps my time seemed more precious to me because of the limitations of my Parkinson's, but I discovered there was no end to creative problems which could be solved, or ideas which could come to me, or materials which might be discovered or gleaned from ordinary life.

Having Parkinson's for twenty-seven years has not been easy, but I am grateful for an imagination which has never failed to bring some joy even to the bad days.
