An episode of this weekly radio show hosted by Robin Morgan, will discuss the special impact of Parkinson’s disease on women, in recognition of April as Parkinson’s Awareness Month. Ms. Morgan is an award-winning poet, feminist activist, and best-selling author who has published more than 20 books.
During this show, Morgan will reveal her own diagnosis of Parkinson's disease and will discuss a variety of topics along with several women from the Parkinson’s community. Her guests will be Allison Willis, M.D., a neurologist who specializes in Parkinson’s, discussing the paucity of women in the field; Lori Katz, a woman with early onset Parkinson’s and a PDF Research Advocate, who founded one of the first women’s PD support groups; and Rhona Johnson, a care partner and member of PDF's People with Parkinson's Advisory Council, on the need for support for care partners.
