PDF Research Program

The Parkinson's Disease Foundation's (PDF) research program is dynamic and dedicated to the study of the cause(s) of and a cure for Parkinson's disease. Since our founding in 1957, PDF has supported hundreds of research projects and/or collaborative efforts throughout the world. Guided by its Scientific Advisory Committee headed by Dr. Stanley Fahn and comprised of leading Parkinson's basic, clinical and translational scientists, the PDF Research Program provides support through five types of grants designated as:

  • Center Grants
  • Seed Grants (the International Research Grants Program)
  • The Fellowship Training Program (which includes Postdoctoral Fellowships for Neurologists, Postdoctoral Research Fellowships and Summer Student Fellowships)
  • Special Collaborations
  • Ad Hoc Grants for special research, training and conference opportunities, as funding allows
